Oklahoma’s Promise offers qualified Oklahoma students an opportunity to earn a scholarship for in-state college costs, and in some cases, a student may be able to attend college tuition-free. Founded in 1992, Oklahoma’s Promise was created specifically to help more Oklahoma students attend college affordably.

Full tuition at an Oklahoma public two-year college.

Full tuition at an Oklahoma public four-year university.

Partial tuition at an Oklahoma accredited private college or university.

Requirements at a Glance

Student Must Be:

An Oklahoma resident.

At least 13 years of age.

Enrolled in the 8th, 9th, 10th or 11th grade in an Oklahoma high school.

In a household with income not exceeding: $60,000 with 1 or 2 children, $70,000 with 3 or 4 children or $80,000 with 5+ children.

Applications Must Be:

Completed during the school year in the student's 8th-, 9th-, 10th- or 11th-grade year.

Witnessed by the student's parent(s) or legal guardian(s) who agree to help the student comply with Oklahoma's Promise requirements.

Need to Know:

2023-2024 application deadline: July 1, 2024.

Students completing the 7th grade in May must wait until the next school year’s application is available in August to apply.

Parents should be prepared to submit income documentation.
